Developing:

1.The first and most important thing we need to tell you is that MDT Wallet is officially renamed as MyMDT. That’s because we think the word “wallet” cannot precisely describe what the product is, and it might be misleading to users.

2. On the back-end side, the engineering team has finished APIs for entering phone number, setting up pin and using MailTime’s profile.

3. On the front-end side, they have finished report problem page and 80% earn MDT page.

4. Staging server for MyMDT’s Alpha test is ready. The team will start to test MyMDT next week. The core functions tested include setting up pin, earning MDT, entering phone number, transfering to Ethereum, etc.

5. MailTime’s developing team is integrating MyMDT API with MailTime. When it’s done, MyMDT will appear on MailTime’s iOS and Android version as a brand new feature.

6. MailTime Android version is now available on HUAWEI’s app store. The engineers are working on a new function “inviting friends”. Stay tuned!

Events:

1.MDT Co-Founder Heatherm Huang was invited to a live interview hosted by TRON. The interview is centered around MDT running for TRON Super Representatives election. Heatherm talked about what MDT ecosystem is, his personal story as a entrepreneur, and why MDT decided to run for the election. This video interview will be later published on their website.

2.MDT Co-Founder Heatherm Huang attended a meetup in Beijing on June 9. Themed as Retrospecting the Success of Wechat, the meetup invited a lot of startup entrepreneurs to share their insights and stories about the most prevalent IM app in China. As one of the core members of TalkBox, the first “push and talk” IM app in China, Heatherm shared his recalled how he created it.

Seven years ago, Heatherm and his team members developed TalkBox. After it was launched in app store, it became very popular in a short time among Chinese smartphone users. Quite a few venture capitals and tech giants expressed great interests in buying and funding TalkBox.

However, similar products came to the market and copied the core function of TalkBox. Even though TalkBox beat Wechat and won the Most Innovative Product award in 2011, it still could not vanquish with Wechat which is backed by the tech titan Tencent. Heatherm and his team could do nothing but to watch TalkBox gradually losing its 13 million users to its competitors.

Fortunately, Heatherm and his team didn’t give up. Instead, they came to Silicon Valley in 2014 and started a new app called MailTime. The app has already hit over 5 million downloads globally. It has also been featured by mainstream media such as CBS, CNBC, Forbes, Fox, TechCrunch, Bloomberg, and so on.
